Fragrance is a way of locating experience.
Maison J° is an independent American fragrance house based in Phoenix, Arizona. J° is pronounced “Jay Degree.” The house brings a perfumer’s discipline to the less measurable parts of life: memory, atmosphere, attraction, and the feeling of a place.
Our mission is to make original fragrances with a distinct point of view, grounded in close study of materials and an exacting record of the work. Each composition is an invitation to notice more: the familiar made strange, a landscape recalled through scent, a memory that seems to belong to somewhere else.
The spirit of the Maison is curious, botanical, and quietly unusual. Historical perfumery, apothecary cabinets, and scientific archives inform a contemporary practice where glass, wood, and carefully kept notes are part of daily work.
At L’Orgue J°, the house’s antique secretary and perfume organ, materials become compositions through observation, measurement, and revision. Precision gives the fragrance its structure. What happens when it meets a person belongs to experience.

Private fragrance work in curated antique vessels.
Collection Privée is the Maison’s invitation-only practice for individual fragrance work. A composition is created for a client and paired with a curated antique perfume vessel, bringing a personal scent into an object with a history of its own.
The fragrance and its vessel are considered together. The character of the composition, the color of the glass, and the shape and detail of the bottle become parts of a single work. Each pairing carries the Maison’s attention to materials, memory, and the experience of keeping a fragrance close.
